Study the following information carefully and answer the given questions:
The given line graph shows the number of apple and the number of apple sold in five different shops.

1. What is the ratio of the number selling apples from A and B together to the number of selling apples from D and E together?

Ans:3
Required ratio = (180 + 400): (250 + 350)
= 580: 600
= 29: 30

 

2. The number of sold apples from C is approximately what percent of the number of apples from D?

Ans:3
Required percentage = 120/300 * 100
= 40%

 

3. What is the average number of unsold apples in all the shops together?

Ans:2
Unsold apple in A = 200 – 180 = 20
Unsold apple in B = 450 – 400 = 50
Unsold apple in C = 150 – 120 = 30
Unsold apple in D = 300 – 250 = 50
Unsold apple in E = 400 – 350 = 50
Required average = (20 + 50 + 30 + 50 + 50)/5
= 40

 

4. What is the ratio of the number of apples from shop E to number of apples sold from B?

Ans:5
Required ratio = 400: 400
= 1: 1

 

5. What is the total number of apples from all the shops together?

Ans:3
Required total=200 + 450 + 150 + 300 + 400
=1500

Study the following pie chart carefully and answer the given questions.
Percentage of students passed in different subjects (Total student = 8000)

Percentage of girls passed in these subjects out of the total students.
(Total number of girls = 5000)

6. What is the approximate passed percentage of boys in English?

Ans:2
Total students for English = 0.14*8000=1120
Total girls passed in English=0.14*5000=700
Total boys passed in English=1120-700=420
Boys pass %= (420/1120)*100=37.5%

 

7. How many boys are passed in Science and Social together?

Ans:4
Total Boys passed in Social = [(0.21*8000)-(0.20*5000)] =680
Total boys are passed in Science and Social = 350+680 = 1030

 

8. What is the total number of girls passed in Hindi and Maths together?

Ans:1
Total number of girls passed in Hindi and Maths =5000*(0.20+0.21)=2050

 

9. Number of boys passed in Hindi is what per cent less than the number of girls passed in Science?

Ans:4
Total number of boys passed in Hindi = [(0.20*8000)-(0.20*5000)]=600
Total number of Girls passed in Science = [0.25*5000]=1250
Required % = [(1250-600)/1250]*100 = 52%

 

10. What is the respective ratio of number of boys passed in English to the number of boys passed in Social?

Ans:1
Total boys passed in English = (0.14*8000)-(0.14*500)=420
Total Boys passed in Social = [(0.21*8000)-(0.20*5000)] =680
Ratio = 420:680 = 21:34
