Set-31
Study the following table carefully and answer the given questions:
Number of solar panel manufactured by the five different companies in the given years (in thousand) and % of defective pieces
T – Total no. of solar panel manufactured
d – % of defective pieces

1. What is the difference between the numbers of non defective solar panel manufactured by companies A&B together and companies D&E together in the year 2010?

Ans:1
Company A = (14000*99.1)/100 => 13874
Company B = (18000*98.8)/100 => 17784
Company D = (12000*99.4)/100 => 11928
Company E = (16000*99.2)/100 => 15872
Difference = (13874+17784) – (11928+15872)
= 3858

2. How many non defective solar panels approximately were manufactured by company B taking all the years together?

Ans:2
2010 = (18000*98.8)/100 => 17784 2013 = (26000*98.8)/100 => 25688
2011 = (22000*98.9)/100=> 21758 2014 = (22000*99.3)/100 => 21846
2012 = (20000*98.7)/100 => 19740 2015 = (26000*98.7)/100 => 25662
Ans = 17784+21758+19740+25688+21846+25662 => 132478

3. How many defective solar panels were manufactured by company C in all the given years? (In thousand)

Ans:1
2010 = (17*1.0)/100 =>0.17 2013 = (20*0.6)/100 => 0.12
2011 = (21*1.3)/100=> 0.273 2014 = (24*1.1)/100 => 0.264
2012 = (25*1.2)/100 =>0.3 2015 = (28*1.6)/100 => 0.448
= 0.17+0.273+0.3+0.12+0.264+0.448 => 1.575 thousand

4. How many Average number of solar panels (in thousands) were manufactured by company D in the given years?

Ans:3
1/6 (12+17+18+27+28+29)
= 21.83 thousands => 22 thousands

5. The respective ratio between the total numbers of solar panels manufactured by companies D to E in all the given years?

Ans:2
Company D => (12+17+18+27+28+29) = 131
Company E => (16+14+24+23+25+23) = 125
131:125

Company B ( in lakh ) –> ( 1+1+1+2+3+5+7+11) = 3100000
Difference = (5800000 – 3100000) = 2700000

10. What is the difference in the total production of the two companies for the given years?

Ans:2
Company B –>( 1+1+1+2+3+5+7+11) = 31
