Data Interpretation: Data Interpretation Questions are usually asked in  all competitive exams like SSC, SBI, IBPS, RBI, LIC, RRB, AAI, DRDO, ISRO, NTR, FSSAI, CWC, LIC, SSC CGL, Railways and other state government exams.

Study the following graph carefully and answer the given questions.
The line graph shows the Quantity of 6 different fruits and price per kg (in Rs)

1. What is the average price per kg of Apple and Guava sold?

Ans: 1
Average price= (25*750+45*550)/(750+550)
=43500/1300
=33.46(approx)

 

2. Out of the total quantity of Banana sold, half the quantity is sold at the given rate while half the quantity is sold 20% more than the original price. What is the total cost of the entire quantity of Banana sold?

Ans: 4
Half of the quantity=700/2=350
Total cost= (350*30)+(350*(30*120/100))
=10500+12600
=23100

 

3. If Cherry is sold at 10% discount then the quantity sold gets doubled. What will be the cost of the total quantity of Cherry sold after discount?

Ans: 3
Total cost=(80*90/100)*(300+300)
=72*600
=43200

 

4. If the selling quantities of Orange and Mango are interchanged then, what is the ratio of the total cost of the quantities sold for Orange and Mango?

Ans: 1
The quantities are interchanged, so mango=450kg
Orange=200kg
Required ratio=200*50:450*70
=20:63

 

5. If the quantity of Guava sold is increased by 300% and the price per kg is reduced by 20%. What will be the total cost of Guava sold?

Ans:4
Quantity increased by 300%=550*400/100
=2200kg
Price decreased by 20%=45*80/100=Rs.36
Total cost=2200*36
=79200

Read the following passage carefully and answer the given questions.
In a train there are 1200 passengers. 18% of the total number of passengers is from Chennai. Two-fifths of the total number of passengers is from Bangalore. 6% of the total number of passengers is from Delhi. The remaining number of passengers is from Mumbai. 25% of the number of passengers from Chennai is females. Half the number of passengers from Bangalore is female. There are no female passengers from Delhi. Two-thirds of the number of passengers from Mumbai is females.
6. What is the total number of male passengers from Mumbai and the female passengers from Bangalore together?

Ans: 1
No.of passengers from Chennai=18*1200/100=216
25% females passengers from Chennai=216*25/100=54
Male passengers from Chennai=216-54=162
No.of passengers from Bangalore=2/5*1200=480
Half the number of female passengers from Bangalore=480/2=240
Hence male passengers from Bangalore=240
No.of passengers from Delhi=6*1200/100=72
Male passenger from Delhi=72
Total number of passengers from Mumbai=1200-216-480-72=432
Two-thirds of the number of passengers from Mumbai is females=432*2/3=288
Male passengers from Mumbai=432-288=144

Female passengers from Bangalore=240
Total=144+240=384
