The bar graph shows the number of students from schools A and B in different classes.


1. What is the ratio of the number of boys in class II from school A to the number of boys in class III from school B?

Ans:2

Required ratio = 100: 120
= 5: 6

 

2. What is the difference between the number of boys from school A in class III and VI together and the number of girls from school B in class IV and VI together?

Ans:3

Required difference = (20+240) – (80+140)
= 260 – 220
= 40

 

3. If the number of girls in class VII from school A is 40 more than the number of girls in class VI and the total students from same school is 500, then find the number of boys in class VII from school A?

Ans:4

Number of girls in class VII from school A = 160+40 = 200
Number of boys in class VII from school A = 500 – 200 = 300

 

4. The difference between the number of students from school A and B is maximum in which class?

Ans:5

Class I = 125 – 100 = 25
Class II = 175 – 150 = 25
Class III = 200 – 150 = 50
Class IV = 250 – 200 = 50
Class V = 200 – 150 = 50
Class VI = 400 – 300 = 100

5. Number of boys from school B in class II and V together is approximately what percentage less than the total students from school B in class III and V?

Ans:1

Required percentage = {(150+200) – (100+125)]/(150+200)} * 100
= [(350 – 225)/350]*100
= (125/350)*100
= 36%

6. What is the difference between the total number of women in HR and that of in Accounts?

Ans:1
The average number of women in HR= (53+28+62+64+42) = 249
The average number of women in Accounts= (66+72+61+79+83) =361
Difference = 361-249 = 112

 

7. What is the ratio between the average number of women of all departments on company D and E?

Ans:4
Average number of women in Company D= (64+79+79+66)/4 =288/4
Average number of women in Company E= (42+83+87+74)/4 =286/4
Ratio = 288/4: 286/4 = 144: 143

 

8. The number of women in Production department of Company E is approximately what percent of the number of women in marketing department of company B?

Ans:4
Percentage= (74/94)*100
= 79%

 

9. The average number of women in company A in all the department is approximately what percentage the average number of women in company C in all the department?

Ans:3
Average number of women in company A in all departments is
= (53+66+83+67)/4 = 269/4
Average number of women in company C in all departments is
= (62+61+91+43)/4 =257/4
Percentage=100*((269/4)/(257/4))≈105%

 

10. What is the total number of women working in the Marketing department of all companies together?

Ans:3
The total of all the women in Marketing department is
= (83+94+91+79+87) = 434
