Ans:4 Number of students in 2015 = 550 Number of students in 2011 = 410 Percentage increase =[(550 – 410)/410] * 100 = 34% (approx) One-fourth of the percentage increase = 34/4 = 8.5%
2. In which year the percentage increase in the number of admitted students was the highest with respect to the previous year?
Ans:3 Since it is only about increase so we should only consider 2012 and 2014. In 2012 the increase = 110/410 * 100 = 26.8% In 2014 the increase = 140/460 x 100 = 30.4%
3. The number of students getting admitted in 2014 is what percentage of the total number of students getting admitted in the school in those 5 years?
Ans:2 Total students admitted = 410 + 520 + 460 + 600 + 550 = 2540 In 2014 the number of students admitted = 600 So the required percentage = 600/2540 * 100 = 23.6%
4. If the number of students admitted is expected to increase by 24% from 2015 to 2016. Find the average number of admissions from 2011 to 2016.
Ans:5 Due to 24% increase the number of students admitted in 2016 = 550 * 1.24 = 682 Required average = (2540+682)/6 = 3222/6 = 537
5. Which year has the least percentage change in the number of students admitted in the school with respect to the previous year?
Ans:4 The percentage changes in 2012 = 110/410 * 100 = 26.8% 2013 = 60/520 * 100 = 11.5% 2014 = 140/460 *100 = 30.4% 2015 = 50/600 *100 = 8.3% So the least change is in 2015.
