Ans:2
Average temperature of Delhi = (35+37+42+45+47)/5 = 41.2
Average temperature of Chennai =(37+38+41+43+46)/5 = 41
Difference = 41.2-41 = 0.2

2. What is the difference between the average temperature of all cities in May and that if February?

Ans:2
Average temperature of all cities in May = (47+44+46+42+47)/5 = 45.2
Average temperature of all cities in February = (37+34+38+35+42)/5 = 37.2
Difference = 45.2 – 37.2 = 8

Set-78
Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below:
The line graph shows the export of Rice by a trader (in tonnes).

6. In how many years the quantity of Rice exported is more than the average quantity of Rice exported for the given period?

Ans:2
Average quantity of export of Rice
= (12 + 15 + 10 + 13 + 20 + 22) / 6
= 92 / 6
= 15.33
Thus, in the year 2006 and 2007, the export quantity of Rice was more than average quantity of Rice export.

7. In which year the value of Rice exported per tonne is highest?

Ans:3
Value per tonne = value / tonne
In 2002 = 144 / 12 = 12
In 2003 = 165 / 15 = 11
In 2004 = 130 / 10 = 13
In 2005 = 156 / 13 = 12
In 2006 = 230 / 20 = 11.5
In 2007 = 275 / 22 = 12.5
In the year 2004 the value of Rice exported per tonne is highest

8. In which of the following year the percentage increase in the value of Rice exported over the previous year is minimum?

Ans:1
% increase = Difference / Previous year × 100
2002 to 2003 = (165 –144) / 144 × 100 = 21/144*100= 14.58%
2003 to 2004 = (130-165) / 165 × 100 = 35/165 *100 = 21.21% decrease
2004 to 2005 = (156 – 130) / 130 × 100 =26/130*100= 20%
2005 to 2006 = (230 – 156) / 156 × 100 =74/156*100= 47.43%
2006 to 2007 = (275 – 230) / 230 × 100= 45/230*100 = 19.56
In 2003 the percentage increase in the value of Rice exported over the previous year the minimum

9. What is the difference in the value of Rice per kg which is exported in 2003 to that in 2006?

Ans:4
Difference
= (230 × 1000 / 20 × 1000) – (165 × 1000 / 15 × 1000)
=230000/20000-165000/15000
= 11.5 – 11
= 0.5

10. From 2007 to 2008, if there is a 25% increase in the quantity of Rice exported and 40% increase in the value, then what is the value of Rice exported per kg in 2008?

Ans:5
Quantity of Rice exported in 2008
= 1.25 × 22 tonnes
= 27.5 tonnes
Value of Rice exported in 2017 = 1.4 × 275
= 385 thousand
Value per kg in 2008 = 385/27.5
= 14
