Following bar-graph shows the percentage of passed girls with respect to total passed students of two colleges A and B.

1. If the number of boys passed from College A and College B is 315 and 225 respectively in the year 2007, then what is the difference between number of girls passed from A and B in year 2007?

Ans:4
Total number of passed students of College A =(100*315)/45 = 700
Number of girls passed = 55% of 700 = 385
Total number of passed students of College B= (100*225)/60 = 375
Number of girls passed = 40% of 375 = 150
Difference = 385 – 150 = 235

 

2. If the number of girls passed from College A and College B in year 2006 is equal to 90, then what is the sum of total number of passed students of College A and College B in the same year?

Ans:4
For College A,
45% of girls = 90
Total student = (90*100)/45 = 200
For College B,
50% of girls = 90
Total student = (90*100)/50 = 180
Sum = 200 + 180 = 380

 

3. If the number of girls passed from College A in year 2009 is equal to the number of boys passed from College B in year 2006 and it is 315, then what is the difference between total number of students passed from College A in 2009 and College B in year 2006?

 Ans:1
Total students passed of College A in 2009 = 315*100/75 = 420
Total students passed of College B in 2006 = 315*100/50 = 630
Difference = 630 – 420 = 210

 

4. If total number of students passed from College A and College B in year 2008 is 650 and 800 respectively, then number of girls passed from College B is how much percent more than the number of girls passed from College A in the same year?

Ans:2
Number of girls passed of College A= (60*650)/100 = 390
Number of girls passed of College B = (57*800)/100 = 456
% difference = [(456-390)/390]*100=16.92%

 

5. If the number of girls passed from College A and College B in year 2010 is 378 and 414 respectively, then number of boys passed from College B is what percent of number of boys passed from College A in same year?(approx)

Ans:4
Number of girls passed from College A = 54% = 378
Number of boys passed from College A = 322
Number of girls passed from College B = 46% = 414
Number of boys passed from college B= 486
%= (486/322)*100≈150%

Average annual sale of pep-up = (30+35+30+25+20+20) / 6 = 26.7

 

8. In the case of ‘Cool­slip drink, what was the approximate percent increase in sale in 2007 over its sale in 2005?

Ans:3
Sale in 2007 = 30
Sale in 2005 = 20
Increase % = [(30-20)/20]*100 = 50%

 

9. In the year 2004, what was the difference between the number of Pep­up and Cool-slip bottles sold?

Ans:5
Number of Pep­up =30
Number of cool-slip=20
Difference = 30-20 = 10

 

10. What was the approximate per cent drop in sale of Pep­up in 2004 over its sale in 2003?

Ans:3
sale of Pep­up in 2004 = 30
sale of Pep­up in 2003 = 35
% drop = [(35-30)/35]*100 = 14.28%
