Invested amount and Period for investment gets multiplied to get the Profit ratio

Total share of A = 3x × 12 = 36x

Total share of B = (4x × 4 ) + (2x × 8) = 16x + 16x = 32x

Total share of C = (5x × 8) + (4x × 4) = 40x + 16x = 56xx

∴ Profit ratio = 36 : 32 : 56 = 9 : 8 : 14

⇒ Share of A in the profit = (9/31) × 31000 = 9000
