37+5=42, 42+10=52, 52+15=67, 67+20=87, 87+25=112, 112+30=142

2. 14, 39, 103, 225, 420, 709

Ans:2
14 + 52 = 3939 + 82 = 103

103 + 112 = 224

224 + 142 = 420

420 + 172 = 709

Hence the wrong term is 225

 

3. 32, 48, 80, 108, 162, 243

Ans:3
The pattern is:32×1.5 = 48, 48×1.5 = 72, 72 x 1.5 = 108, 108×1.5 = 162, 162×1.5 = 243

4. 10, 8, 13, 35, 135, 671, 4007

Ans: 2
10 x 1 – 2 = 88 x 2 – 3 = 13

13 x 3 – 4 =35

35 x 4 – 5 = 135

135 x 5 – 6 = 669

669 x 6 – 7 = 4007

5. 1, 16, 125, 256, 625, 1296

Ans:4
The numbers are 14, 24, 34 .. 64.
So the third number should be 81 and not 125.

Ans:1
The next number is obtained by adding sum of digits of the previous number:11 + 1 + 1 = 13

13 + 1 + 3 = 17

17 + 1 + 7 = 25

25 + 2 + 5 = 32

32 + 3 + 2 = 37

 

7. 167, 172, 179, 190, 203, ?

Ans:5
Consective prime numbers are added to the number:167 + 5 = 172

172 + 7 = 179

179 + 11 = 190

190 + 13 = 203

203 + 17 = 220

 

8. 29, 42, 57, 74, 93, ?

Ans:5
The pattern is as follows:4 x 7 + 1 = 29

5 x 8 + 2 = 42

6 x 9 + 3 = 57

7 x 10 + 4 = 74

8 x 11 + 5 = 93

9 x 12 + 6 = 114

 

9. 424, 488, 613, 829, 1172, ?

Ans:3
The pattern is as follows:424 + 43 = 488

488 + 53 = 613

613 + 63 = 829

829 + 73 = 1172

1172 + 83 = 1684

 

10. 73, 96, 121, 148, 177, ?

Ans:3
The pattern is as follows:17 x 4 + 5 = 73

18 x 5 + 6 = 96

19 x 6 + 7 = 121

20 x 7 + 8 = 148

21 x 8 + 9 = 177

22 x 9 + 10 = 208
